Steven Frederick Obituary

Steven Frederick, a longtime resident of Lorain, Ohio, passed away at his home on January 3, 2026. He was born on September 1, 1949, in Framingham, Massachusetts, and was the beloved son of the late Betty Jacqueline (Briscoe) Hart and Kenneth Hart.

Steven proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Steven was a man of unique character. His family and friends will remember him as sarcastically humorous—grumpy yet funny—and deeply himself in every way, a rare and unforgettable mix that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Steven enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, watching movies, attending music concerts, coloring, and gaming. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, which brought him his greatest joy.

Steven is survived by his children: Melissa; Katrina; Leena ; and Kenny. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Frederick of Berea, Ohio; his brothers, Wayne Frederick of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Roy Hart of Arizona and a very close friend, mother and grandma Karen Frederick of Lorain, Ohio.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Matthew Brown, Mariah Brown, Jasmine Sanchez, and Jada Sanchez. In addition, he is survived by his nephews Chris Berbiglia  and Kenneth Frederick, and his great-niece, Demira Berbiglia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Robin Hart and also his nephew Phillip Berbiglia.

Services will be held at a later date.
