Steven Scott Slutzker

     Steven S. Slutzker, 65, of Lorain passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at his home following a long illness.

     Mr. Slutzker was born in Amherst on December 24, 1957, son of the late Sanford and Thelma Clarice (nee Goldenberg) Slutzker. He was a graduate of Murray Ridge School.

     He was a member of Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain. From 1981 until 2004, he worked as a custodian at Nordson. Previously, he had worked at his family's business, Slutzker's Market.

     Mr. Slutzker led an active life, he was very involved with union activities at Nordson and enjoyed helping out at the annual Labor Day union picnic in Lorain. He participated in Special Olympics, winning several awards. He played basketball and was an avid bowler. He bowled in 4 leagues and enjoyed playing golf. He especially loved to travel; having traveled to all 48 contiguous states and Europe and Mexico. He had enjoyed more than 50 escorted motor coach trips. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and the news.

     Steve is survived by sisters Susan (Terrence) Lang of Amherst, Wendy Garfield of Berkeley, CA. and numerous other relatives and loving friends.

     Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street in Lorain with Mr. Mark Jaffee, officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Sheffield Township.
