Thelma "Jean" Chrulski 88, of Lorain passed away on November 11, 2024 at Ganzhorn Suites in Avon.
She was born on January 1, 1936, Jean was preceded in death by her Husband, Dr. Edward R. Chrulski, DDS (October 13, 1935 - November 23, 1977), and her companion, George G. Llewellyn Jr. (July 8, 1929 - April 13, 2020). She was also preceded in death by her parents, Earl R. Frank (October 9, 1906 - April 15, 1988) and Thelma L (nee Bradley) Frank (June 9, 1906 - May 28,1997), and siblings: Beverly Lorene Frank (1938), Mary Lou (Robert) Kiser (June 3, 1933 - May 10, 2018), and Ralph E. Frank (September 1, 1940 - September 19,2002).
Jean is survived by her sons, James E. Chrulski and wife Magdalene "Mally" (nee Dougherty) Chrulski of Hutchinson Island, FL and David E. Chrulski and wife Gwen E. (nee Almond) Chrulski of Vermilion, and her beloved grandson Kenneth E. Chrulski of Vermilion and sibling Earlene (John) Moritz of Benton AK.
Jean was a proud graduate of Lorain High School (1954) and a Registered Nurse, having completed her nursing training at Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland in 1957. Over the course of her career, she worked in various nursing positions, including as Unit Charge Nurse at Lutheran Home (Concord Reserve) in Westlake, from 1982 to 2000, where she served for 18 years. She also worked as a secretary and office manager at various local organizations, including Dr. Edward Chrulski DDS, in Lorain.
Jean's community involvement was extensive. In the 1970s, she was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain, where she enjoyed participating in the Redeemer Guild Ladies Group and organizing fundraising bazaars. She also volunteered with the YMCA in Lorain, where she served as chairperson and judge for the swim team diving events.
Jean will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her profession, and her community. Her kindness, commitment to service, and warm spirit tgouched many lives.
Visitation will be held at Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St. Lorain this Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 10 am to 11 am with graveside services in Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery at 11:15 am.
