Wanda M. Schooley, 99, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Clara Brown.
Wanda spent 37 dedicated years working as an Electronics Assembler at Lorain Products in Lorain, Ohio. Her strong work ethic, kindness, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Wanda could always be found outside in her yard, mowing the lawn or trimming the hedges. Wanda shared her love through her baking, especially her nut rolls, and was always ready for a good game of keno or a new lottery scratch-off.
A longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and Christian Temple Disciples of Christ in Lorain, Wanda cherished her faith, her community, and above all, her family. She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and loved spending time with each generation of her growing family.
Wanda’s love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Linda Nisenboum (Ken Paradissis), of Lorain, Ohio; her brother, Bill Frank, (Thelma), also of Lorain; grandchildren Richard Nisenboum (Kim) and Melanie Szabo (David) and; great-grandchildren Megan Szabo, Jenna Szabo (Jason Norwood), Jacob Szabo, Joseph Kramer, and Morgan (Xavier) Loera; and great-great-grandchildren Jonathon and Myles Loera.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dean Cecil and Jay Cecil.

The family will gather to celebrate a life well-lived and honor Wanda on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am at Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio with a graveside service to follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park 44805 N. Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio. There will be a luncheon immediately following the graveside service at Knights of Columbus, 4720 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
