William C. "Bill" Haupt, Jr., 84, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2023 at the Woods at French Creek following a long illness.
Mr. Haupt was born in Lorain on December 11, 1938, the son of the late William Conrad and Marie Susan (nee Molnar) Haupt. He was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1957B an attended Kent State University.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He retired as the central office manager at Windstream in Elyria with service for 41 years retiring in 2002. He worked at Spitzer Marina after his retirement and as a young man at the Palace Theater, and the Morning Journal.
He was a member Eagles, NRA, and the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed hunting, watching classic black and white movies and shooting clay pigeons.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith K. (nee Reilly) Haupt, daughters Lorelei Ann Haupt of Lorain, Marlene M, (Joshua) Klabik of Cleveland, sons Kevin W Haupt, Timothy C. (Christina) Haupt, both of Lorain, Robert V. (Joanne) Haupt of Elyria, grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Sara, Heidi, Katie, Reilly Lee, great grandchildren Lexi, Alex Jr. Miles, Archer, brother Ernest (Eileen) Haupt of Vermilion and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Andrew Haupt and sisters Violet Trinmeyer and Mae Beese.
Friends may call on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:00 am.
Burial, with full military honors, will be private.
